Compatible Energy Devices
HomeBar's energy features — current draw, today's cost, monthly totals, and projections — depend on accessories that report power usage through HomeKit or Matter. Most smart plugs and switches don't expose this data, so the list below is the set we've personally tested and confirmed working.
Live energy reporting is a relatively new HomeKit and Matter capability. It takes time for manufacturers to add support to new accessories — and even longer to update existing ones via firmware — so this list will grow as adoption catches up.
Confirmed compatible
- Eve Energy — Reports live wattage and cumulative kWh natively through HomeKit. Works over Thread on newer hardware.
- Meross MSS310 — Smart plug with energy monitoring. Reports current draw and cumulative consumption to HomeKit.
- TP-Link Kasa KP125 / EP25 — Matter-over-WiFi smart plugs that expose energy data to HomeKit via the Matter bridge.
- iDevices Switch — In-wall HomeKit switch that reports energy usage for the connected load.
What about other devices?
If your accessory shows up in the Apple Home app but doesn't appear in HomeBar's energy view, it most likely doesn't report energy data through HomeKit — even if it has energy monitoring in the manufacturer's own app. We can't surface what HomeKit doesn't expose.
Our anonymous usage stats look for devices that support these energy capabilities in a home and automatically report them to us. We'll add it to our testing queue and update the list as we confirm full compatibility.
